| During the New Wave era, deerfrance
not only worked the door at CBGBs but did the booking at Maxs
in New York City. She gave The B-52s and Devo their first NYC gig
and later introduced Devo to Brian Eno. She has always been known
for her quick wit and infectious sense of humour.
deerfrance has performed live
with David Bowie at Carnegie Hall, toured for two years with John
Cale and sang with Tom Verlaine. She formed Floor Kiss with Dee
Pop (Michael Paumgharden on guitar) which was deemed one of the
best bands of the late 1980s by the New York Times. She was
also in The Blue Picts and the Lowriders, and in 2000 she formed
Extra Virgin Mary with Paul Chapin.
April 2004, Dee Pop (Bush Tetras) rejoins the band.
